Final determination of the volumes of each lake/weir to be provided with water from the WMPP has been postponed until the LIDAR data is available. LIDAR information is generated from aerial laser survey, providing accurate survey data, which is combined with photography and GIS data.

LIDAR will enable the current profile of each lake/weir to be calculated, accurately identifying the required volume for ‘topping up’ the water. The survey data will also be valuable in determining the drainage and channel de-commissioning strategies, based on detailed survey data.
