Local Government has played a key role in the Wimmera Mallee Pipeline Project development and construction, and involvement will continue well beyond project completion. Each council is playing an integral role in helping deliver benefits that the pipeline will bring to their municipalities.

Councils have successfully worked with pipeline planners to coordinate council works programs with pipeline activities. Pipeline project planners and the councils have worked together on statutory planning requirements and emergency services including fire-fighting needs in each municipality.
